On My To-Do List...

So obviously, I have been away, neglecting to keep up with my writing. Not that anyone but my sister really notices though. :) I have had every desire to write entries, but my desires lack energy I suppose.

I have picked up a new schedule at work this month, and needless to say I am in a period of adjustment. For 4 years I have been with my company and I have always worked 10am - 7pm. (If I work through my lunch hour, then I can leave at 6.) Most people would hate this schedule. However, for a single gal who loved sleeping in every morning, not dealing with traffic, and considered herself a "night owl" anyway, this was pretty close to perfect.

However, in these 4 years I have had 4 different supervisors, and not every one of them appreciated the schedule I was hired on with. :(

So, after much rebellion and hesitation, I finally took it upon myself to change. No one asked me to, I just decided that changing my schedule was much less important in the grand scheme of things when your carreer was possibly in question. (And when you think you have a supervisor that doesn't care for you much....you have to suck it up....and be a "suck up".)

So, this self-proclaimed "night owl" traded in her wings and joined the rat race. I am now among all the other corporate career people, sitting in traffic at 7am, yawning and listening to talk radio. How exciting...

It's been 3 weeks now and people still don't believe that this notorious late-shifter is showing up at 7:30am every day!!! I hardly believe it myself.

The pay off of getting home at 4pm is pretty sweet though, I must admit! It's still daylight at that time! Who knew?! :)

So, while I am getting used to my new schedule, the blog has moved to the back burner for now. (Among other things like cooking dinner and reading before bed.) Right now I'm just working on trying NOT to go to sleep at 8pm no matter how badly my body wants to! :)

So although I'm making it home by 4pm, I lack the energy to do much once I get there. That will change I'm sure, given time to adjust.

So all this is to say that I haven't forgotten you blog world! I am still here, still reading other blogs and getting tons of ideas, just not writing much for now. Not that anyone really missed me anyway...

Speaking of, if you do read my blog, but have never posted a comment, please do. I would love to hear from you; my audience! Just even a simple "hi" would do to please me. I want to know that someone out there is listening to what I have to say. Don't make me have one of those famous "give aways" just to get you all to come out of the wood work. Yeah...you know what I'm talking about. :)

I'm so glad the new schedule is starting to work out for you. It does take a while to adjust, but eventually you will. And I think that if you are tired, then you should let yourself go to sleep early every now and then. You being tired might just be your body telling you that you need some extra zz's. TTYL- Andrea
