Last year sometime I made the comment to my dad that I'd go to the driving range with him sometime. It's one of his favorite past times and I knew it make his day to hear it. What I didn't know is that he'd remind me of it almost every time I saw him. :)
Today, the weather was great, sun was shining and I had to go visit my parents. It didn't take long for my dad to suggest the idea. I was very hesitant, but I finally agreed to go. Keep in mind that I have never played golf in my life. So we grab his clubs and instead of the driving range, we head for the 9 hole par 3. All I kept thinking was, "I'm about to make a fool out of myself."
I will have you know that all it took was that first swing, and I was hooked. I loved it! A sport where I don't have to run around and lose my breath, what more could I ask for?!
Not only did I love the game, keep up with my dad just about and make my dad's day, but afterwards he surprised me and gave me my own set. He had a smaller bag and a set of clubs and he gave them to me to keep. He said "Now we can do this every Sunday." :)
What a great day!

How fun! D.J. loves golf and as a gift I gave him lessons when we lived in GA. What a great way for you to have some time with your Dad too. Hopefully this weather stays nice so you get lots of Sunday golfing in!
